Miss Haversham

My interpretation of Charles Dicken’s ‘Great Expectations’. I wanted to portray the emotions between the three figures and include the symbolism of the articles on the table.  Pip is looking at Estelle, Estelle is looking towards Miss Haversham and Miss Haversham is keeping her eye on Pip. I have read this story a couple of times, once when young and again to compose this painting. There is so much that could be included but less is more and I just wanted to portray the connections of the three figures. It was so interesting putting it all together, I really enjoyed this painting.
