In 2000 Jan exhibited ‘Purple Flower’ at The Royal Watercolour Society, London. Since then she has shown her work in various galleries and exhibitions throughout the south of England, and has also exhibited in her own open house, Mnich’s Mix, during the Brighton Festival.
Colour atmosphere is probably the most significant challenge with the environments she tries to evoke. Traveling, landscape and architecture are great inspirations for her. Recent work has been influenced by the light in the Mediterranean, Turkey, Egypt and New Zealand.
Jan’s other inspirations are water, in particular it’s changing quality and the way it reflects its surroundings.
