Happy to chat about costs and subject matter.
Visits to Bramling Oast studio welcome but please contact first.
Land and seascapes direct from nature as oil sketches on board or canvas.
Sometimes worked as ’ finished ’ paintings on fresh canvas when back in studio.
Also I make use of the camera and any impressions that emerge in my memory.
For me however the sketch or painting holds more value than a photographic attempt at recreating the original subject.
Tonality with a retracted pallet more often is attempted. Other times geometric juxtaposed images seem to demand prevalence.
Always avoiding detail and preferring to obtain a looseness almost an abstraction of the subject.
Ror me, and I hope the viewer, it is the finished ( or unfinished) work that matters.
