Artists Description
I’m working on several paintings starting from random patterns and developing into more naturalistic images: this is the first to be completed.
It started by spraying watercolour paper with silly string, then spraying. washing and dropping in watercolours to create random patterns. This was then studied to see what image ‘grew’ out of the patterns. These patterns suggested a woman in a hat and this was developed using charcoal, soft pastels, more watercolour and acrylic inks.
She seems to me to be rather mysterious.
