Artists Description
‘That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.’
Taken from Alhazreds translation of The Necronomicon.
The idea behind this painting is to show the great Old One, Cthulhu imprisoned in the sunken city of R’lyeh. The viewer is gazing at the scene through an ancient magical mirror.
Beware when looking into the Abyss, as it sometimes looks back!
