An acrylic semi-abstract painting of a scene inspired by the headland at Spurn Point, East Yorkshire. Lots of acrylic washes have been used to build up the colours of the sea and the sky, with metallic pinks showing through at various points in the sky to suggest a lovely sunset evening. Texture paste was applied to the whole are of land in order to increase the rough feel of the area depicted. There is also some sand added to the nearest part of the headland in the bottom right corner. The edges of the canvas have been painted in a complementary dark brown so there is no need for additional framing in order to hang this painting flush to the wall.
