A matriarchal society, the she elephant can live as long as 60yrs (beyond her breeding age) and passes along her experience and knowledge to the younger females in the herd.
With no natural predators, sadly man is their biggest threat. Highly intelligent they are capable of emotions, such as grief. Anyone who saw the Story of Echo would take no persuading and take no more tusks!
