Artists Description
Painted during a winter storm, when the seaward part of the pier had been closed to visitors. The waves dwarfed the old breakwater and swirled up the beach in foaming patterns. I used a lot of Copydex as masking ink for the foam, and choose colours which would granulate [sometimes with the help of granulation medium] for the waves.
