This contemporary painting on Loxley boxed canvas, created completely from my imagination.

Initially, I have used quality artist texture paste to sculpt the scene and then painted on-top to create an atmospheric study, using acrylic paints, acrylic inks, ‘Tulip/fabric’ pens and oil bars. It is a highly textural piece including sand.

The poppies, standing and proud in the foreground, lead one’s eye into the work giving a real depth to the painting as the poppies disappear into the faintly distant hills beyond.

This painting has two coats of artist quality gloss varnish and all four sides of the canvas are completely clean of paint.
