Pillar (detail)

A stylised dining chair one of eight. Deep relief canthrus leaf detail plaques in Ebony with pink ivory buds. The legs support a curved seat with a black kid leather drop in seat. The square section back uprights run into turned cylindrical upright pillars with turned ebony Top Hat Finials. The bottom stretcher is solid ebony with bands of gold water gilding, Tutankhamun style. The back support is curved and is of alternate bands of Solid Ebony and Pink Ivorywood rising up to a solid curved back rail worked with inset raised Ebony scratch stock mouldings. This chair is of very complicated construction - cutting edge - Chinese puzzle
