Artists Description

Gondolas have a beautiful, very antique-looking, curved design and to see several of them in the canal at one time, is a magnificent view that makes me feel like curtseying. Often, as in this painting, the backdrop of the gondolas are Venetian palaces now made into hotels, flanking the edges of the canal, seemingly watching over the canal-faring wanderers. What a magical place Venice is. Here I used fine texture as the scene is peaceful as is Venice most of the time.
