Artists Description

Seagulls have been a great part of my early life in a fishing town in Scotland. They spend a lot of their time out at sea, hoping for fish from the fishermen, but with all the prohibitions now, there are fewer fish avaiable for the poor seagulls. I painted this using heavy, textured acrylics with palette knives and used various, vivid blues and whites. I wanted a lot of texture and contrast to give movement as the sea is a very mobile place.
