Jungle Prince and King
Artists Description

I love the monarchial, haughty look on this sleepy lion’s face as he lies unperturbed, knowing he is, ‘King of the Jungle’ and top of the food chain so not at all threatened, but threatening.  His proud Prince lies at his side as second-in-command of their pride.  I used palette knives to produce the heavy texture necessary for their fur and for the lion’s mane.  The wild texture is a representation of the wildness of these majestic beasts that roam free in jungles. I finished off the painting using fine oil-painting brushes.
