Sadly, despite their wealth and influence the Kennedy family has suffered a series of tragedies including the assassination of JFK (apparently by Lee Harvey Oswald who was killed by Jack Ruby, whilst in Police custody, just two days later) and his brother Robert.
For me the first of the ‘Do you remember what you were doing when …’ events, the original ‘nightmare’ on Elm Street that fateful day (November 22 1963) in Dallas and its numerous conspiracy theories.
In his inaugural speech he famously said ‘Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country’, which still resonates today … with the exception of those brave souls serving Queen and Country, we should be less ‘expecting’ and much more ‘doing’.
