This painting was painted in situ in the garden of renowned botanical painter (and tutor of mine) Christopher Ryland. A lone statue in the foreground holds a small bird to her breast, on a higher level a statue of two lovers basks in the sun. Pots, bricks and a garden bursting with summer growth add to the romance.
