Making use of my camera, sketchbook and paintbox I try to record the ‘elements’ of what I see rather than some slavish copy. It is the impact of the landscape which I try to convey.
Always avoiding detail and preferring to obtain a looseness almost an abstraction of the subject.
For me, it is the finished (or sometimes unfinished) work that really matters.
In the end it is the painting makes its own demands on what colours, tones, chords and marks it requires.
I hope you will like the results and thanks for looking.
