The company name is inspired by Jean Muir’s first fashion label and references one of Jane’s fashion icons.
Jane’s career started in fashion and is now in art education, reaching this serendipitous point:
a passion for fashion + an obsession with vintage textiles and china = janeandjane.
Jane hand paints earthenware ceramic bowls with individual designs based on colour and patterns from vintage textiles and fashion prints. Bowls are chosen as the medium for design as they represent the duality of function and celebration. Their circular form is tactile and inherently female -  these bowls should brighten the space they are in….. just like a couture dress on a catwalk ...
