I am a landscape artist working primarily in pastel.  The Derbyshire Peak District provides the inspiration and sense of place in my work.  My aim is to capture the spirit and atmosphere of the Peak Park in all its moods.  I work in a diversity of styles and images range from the naturalistic to the contemporary.  An emphasis on colour and tone gives rise to characteristic visual and expressive qualities in my work.  I enjoy finding new ways of expressing the visual qualities I want and discovering an appropriate language for feeling.
